Żywiec Landscape Park

Żywiecki Landscape Park, located directly next to the resort, is the oldest landscape park in the region, established in 1986, covering an area of over 35 hectares. It stretches along the Polish-Slovak border, from Zwardoń to Korbielów, with its northern boundary marked by the Jeleśnia-Żywiec route. The park encompasses two beautiful mountain ranges - the Wielka Racza group and the Pilsko group. The Wielka Racza group, located to the west, is known as the Racza Bag, extending from Zwardoń Pass to Glinka Pass. The highest peaks in this range are Wielka Racza (1236 m above sea level) and Wielka Rycerzowa (1226 m above sea level).

Further to the east, the Pilsko group extends as a vast mountain nest, intersected by radiantly arranged valleys. In addition to the highest peak in this range, Pilsko (1557 m above sea level), it is worth climbing Romanka (1366 m above sea level) or Rysianka (1322 m above sea level). In Żywiecki Landscape Park, in addition to picturesque peaks, you can find winding streams creating attractive waterfall cascades. The highest waterfall, as high as 10 meters, is located in Sopotnia Wielka on the stream of the same name.

Equally interesting are the landslide lakes, with the most beautiful ones located on the plateau between the peaks of Lipowska (1324 m above sea level) and Rysianka. Another attraction of the park is its caves, with the largest one being Wickowa Cave in Sopotnia Wielka, measuring 101 meters in length and recognized as a monument of inanimate nature.
